The internal book behind the GFTS consultancy: log an engagement as it happens, pull a month of unbilled work onto one invoice, run payroll off the same login. A fork of the haulage ledger, because a ceramic-former audit practice and a haulier share nothing except the shape of their paperwork.
GFTS bills technical audits and consultancy, not tonnage — but the paperwork has the same shape as the haulage ledger already built: a month of dated line items becomes one invoice, and the same login runs payroll. Forking it was the honest engineering call; the risk was the one a previous fork of this codebase actually shipped, where a rename caught the visible strings and missed the rest, leaving an app whose link preview still named the wrong company.
Every brand string — company name, letterhead, tab title, link preview, authenticator label, cookie and cache names — reads from a single `lib/brand.ts` rather than being retyped, so there is one place a rename can be wrong instead of forty. Payroll computes EPF, SOCSO, EIS and SKBBK off the official schedules and freezes them onto the issued slip, so a later rate change never rewrites what was actually remitted.
